    SlideShow installation:
    you will surely need a nice JM Slideshow to show on your Magento frontpage or any of your cms pages.
    So,here is a nice way to do it.

    Download this extension here.
    http://hotfile.com/dl/25123006/639a6ef/JM_Slideshow___UnzipFirst.rar.html

    Unzip it and Upload it to your Magento root folder. (only the app. and skin files)

    create new folder under media folder and name it jmslideshow. put the photos you want to show in the new folder.
    P.s: photoes name should be in english.

    P.S: Keep a backup, before doing it, as Magento goes crazy sometimes.

    Once uploaded, clear your cache.
    goto System > Cash Management and change All Cache to Refresh. Click on Save cache settings.
    log out from your Admin Panel. Then login again and goto,

    SYSTEM > CONFIGURATION

    You will see a under catalog, JM SlideShoe.
    Open that and configure it in the way,you need it.
    under image foder enter media/jmslideshow. P.S: match configuration to the above and after it works customized it.

    Once done, goto your CMS pages and add this code where, you want your SlideShow to appear.

    {{block type=”joomlart_jmslideshow/list” name=”home.jmslideshow.list” }}
    if you want the silde will show in the of the page put it in the first line.

  7. Tamburra says:

    I am having the same problem as “bnito” above. Running 1.4.0.1. The images load and the slides move to what is set in the backend but there are no thumbnails, description, or navigation buttons. When on mouseover the description box shows but with no text.

  8. Dani says:

    I am having trouble even to show it on home page. on ver 1.4.0.1
    can you Tamburra tell what code did you enter in backend and where?

  9. Dani says:

    images in jmslideshow
    cms->pages->home->content , enter the following
    {{block type=”joomlart_jmslideshow/list” name=”home.jmslideshow.list” folder=”media/jmslideshow}}

  10. ruffcrib says:

    those who are still having problems:

    1. Makesure the folders and files are transferred to your theme folder
    2. If your theme already defining jquery.js, you need to edit the list.phtml file in jmslideshow to not to define the jquery file again. Its the 4th line. Sometimes your theme might be defining jquery-1.2.2; that case the jquery is defined.

  13. Quote says:

    you have to do the quotes(“) again. As quoted here {{block type=”joomlart_jmslideshow/list” name=”home.jmslideshow.list”}}

  14. Phil says:

    If you have installed everything correct and you can see the config panel in backend, but by adding the “{{block….” to the CMS site you only see the title and no slideshow the problem is the Javascript. You need to do the following steps:

    Step 1: Installation

    If you are new to Magento, find out how to install the module HERE.

    “We do uses jQuery in our JM Slideshow, thus you need to update Javascript library script.aculo.us built in default Magento in order to ensure the JM Slideshow works properly.

    Steps to update:

    1. Get the latest version of the script.aculo.us (1.8.2 right now): http://script.aculo.us/
    2. Upload the file to [Magento]/js/scriptaculous”

  15. h-a-r-v says:

    For those who dunno how to set text for images – just see what’s in the “Description..” field on the picture above and follow that pattern for each item.
